Chase for the 1s:
(1-8) 1L (top 2^nd corner) cast down (partner follows full sequence)
cross up between 2s, cast down around 2R,
dance straight across the set (partner settle in below 2R)
to end in progressed places

Chase for the 2s:

cross up between 1s, cast down around 1L,

Background

The meanwhiles in A may be a Seattle variation, but I’ve also seen it danced that way elsewhere. If dancing with these, ask the 2s to start close and the 1s to start wide.

Teaching Notes

B. The chase here is almost like a half figure eight that starts with the cast.

C2. The ending here should feel natural for the dancers in the hey, but the dancer left out needs to be alert to move up on time.
