Background
Anna Patton:
One of my pandemic activities has been finding new-to-me woods paths and other tucked-away walks to go on in Brattleboro, so the gist of the title’s meaning is “same town, new map.”
Margaret & Jeff Bary:
Coincidentally, Margaret & Jeff also spent many months exploring the trails of Eastern Long Island over the past two years, so the title “New Map” speaks to us as well.
Teaching Notes
A1. Identify “corners” as dancer on R diagonal followed by neighbor on your R
A2. Heys are initiated with same 1st corner dancers. Heys need to be tight to get to lines of 3 in time
B2. L1 and L2 pick up their partners (coming out of the single file chase) and keep moving up through the 3s
B2. Partners have time to acknowledge each other before turning single
