Background

Higgs:

Kit French commissioned this dance and tune to honor three generations of dancing Atossas: his grandmother, Atossa Nilsen Herring; mother, Atossa Herring French; and sister, Atossa French Kramer.

Teaching Notes

Higgs:

This dance is best enjoyed with lots of space.

B1— Less skilled dancers can omit the turn single, easing out to the side instead.
